PAHO Appreciation to the HHS Donation of Tamiflu

July 13, 2009 — The Pan American Health Organization has expressed its appreciation to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services for the donation of 420,000 treatments of Tamiflu for the treatment of Influenza A (H1N1) in the Latin American region, stating that the recent donation is having an impact in Chile and Argentina as well as in other countries to which distribution will be made in the region in a letter dated July 13, 2009 to the acting Director of the Office of Global Health Affairs, Jim Kulikowski, from the PAHO Director, Dr. Mirta Roses Periago.
