HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius Addresses the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) Directing Council

September 28, 2009 - Secretary Sebelius addressed the 49th PAHO Directing Council reaffirming the importance the United States places on its longstanding relationship with PAHO, and renewing U.S. commitment to improve health in the Americas region.  The Secretary discussed common public health challenges at the annual meeting including the H1N1 virus with Dr. Margaret Chan, Director-General of the World Health Organization, and Dr. Mirta Rosas Periago, Director of the Pan American Health Organization.
